The Grenadines may be of interest to you-Resorts like Palm Island, Young Island or Petit St. Vincent. Also there's Bequia--just go into Google and type out St. Vincent and the Grenadines or just Grenadines for info.
If you would like to try scuba there's Ti Kaye Village Resort in the remote area of St. Lucia that is over a beautiful reef.
Francois Plantation in St. Barts is in a quiet area--but you will need a car.
Captain Morgan's Retreat in Belize has kayaking etc.--where Temptation Island was filmed--website belizevacation.com
Tobago is a quiet island--the Le Grand Courlan Spa Resort caters to divers.
Cayman Brac and Little Cayman are quieter than Grand Cayman--hotels listed in Fodor's online.
Thanks everyone for the input. I have settled on the Turks and Caicos. Deserted islands are for me.

I would vote for St. John or Bermuda.
Both have gorgeous beaches. Especially, St. John. That would be first choice, Bermuda, second choice.

J

Look at the fairly new Ti Kaye Village Resort in St. Lucia--is situated over a marine reserve--great scuba! Definitely not many people--go into Google and type out "Ti Kay Village, St. Lucia" to get info.

Brad: T&C is not a deserted island--its become very popular--you might look into other islands.

When we stayed at the Ocean Club it was great but there were a lot of kids and in fact quite a few on the island.

Sorry, I mean't Provo not T&C--other areas of the Turks are not as crowded and cater to divers.

Try St-Barth or Anguilla. Both have great beaches, limited nightlife, relatively few kids, and neither is overrun by tourism. Not great choices for kayaking though.

Still too noisy? Want something really different, super quiet, pretty beaches? Try Terre de Haut (Les Saintes) or Marie-Galante - both are accessible by boat or plane from Guadeloupe.

I would recommend the island of Tobago if you want to really find a quiet island--large resorts like Le Grand Courlan or small places like Top Ranking Hotel with their own dive boat.

Top Ranking Tobago has their own boat to take out people out for snorkling not diving.
