Hedo is right next door to Sandals - the beaches connect but there are guards. I belvie you would have to go to the front desk at Hedo to gt on and the day pass will proubly run about $45-60 each for all-inclusive. If you do choose Sandals, you might want to see if they are playing Hedo in volleyball like they use too - if that is the fact, you get to go over to Hedo for the game so you can get a glimpse of the resort then.

Sandals is a nice proeprty. Nice beach but do pay for a beachfront room as other rooms, most do not have balconies or patios. Food was good, pool is small but nice inthat it over looks the beach and the people are super.

Sandals is full suite - some go thong but they do not allow any nudity at all.

Its been a few years, but we enjoyed Sandals. Understand that its not the top if the line for AI but its great as long as you find a good price. Food was good, epecially a little snack shack that served jerk chicken (yum). Beer was all draft red stripe but I liked it so it was not a problem for me. I enjoyed the daily snorkel trips, offered 4 times a day. My only complaint was the music at the main pool. Istead of "island" music, they played some oldies american music. But we stayed at the beach during the day. We did see some topless sun bathers on the beach but not the pool. We didn't see much at the disco but enjoyed the slot machines and pool tables at the beach bar. Did not go to Hedo. We booked through Air Jamica and it was one of the easiest trips we have taken. We actually "checked" our bags in at the hotel, got boarding passes, etc. No lines at the airport. But that was pre-9-11. That's actually more than you asked but hope its helpful!

Topless area of Sandals Negril is toward the west end of the resort, opposite end of the resort from Hedo. Full nudity is not allowed at Sandals Negril. Only Sandals I know of that allows full nudity is the private off shore island at Sandals Royal Caribbean where there is an area on the ocean side.

We were at Sandals Negril last June and it was wonderful. No problem with walking over to Hedonism. There is a gate between the two beaches and you can just walk through. The guard is there just to make sure he knows you are leaving Sandals so they will know where you are. We walked around Hedonism and it was a bit strange, lots of naked fat people lying around with there legs all akimbo exposing there most private parts like they were proud of them. In our opinion most of the people would have looked better with a swim suit on. Seemed to be a great abundance of blubber and tattoos. Not sexy at all, nor even enticing. Actually pretty disgusting.

Sandals is a great place and the beach is wonderful. By the way, the above poster that alludes to topless at Sandals is wrong. Sandals does not condone topless and we did not see it all on the Sandals beach. It is strongly frowned on by Sandals.
Carrie,
We visited Sandals a few years ago. Had a great time. Food is good, beach is beautiful and the convenience of having all the watersports right there at your fingertips is great. Went snorkling a couple times. The pool is small but we sat on the beach most of the time. The people were very nice and helpful. We walked the beach past Hedo and just saw a bunch of old naked people lying by the beach. Sandals was much classier IMHO. There were topless women on the beach but few completely nude. Have a great time. If you can, visit Beaches Negril. There pool is much better and they have a nice adults only restaurant.

We found the beach at Sandals Negril to be quite narrow with a slight odor to it. To be fair, we were there last year in November a couple of weeks after a major hurricane had hit the Caribbean. The beach had taken quite a beating but i've read on The Gleaner that even without the hurricane problems the area is attempting to deal with severe beach erosion issues. The beach in no way looks like the one on the Sandals brochures, far from it. At some places, the water came right up to a boardwalk that Sandals had built. The sand is yellow and a bit coarser than in other parts of the Caribbean. But, the water was warm and the weather was nice.

WE FOUND THE BEACH TO BE WOINDERFUL, CLEAN, NO SMELLS AT ALL, PLENTY OF SAND, THE WATER IS PERFECT. WE WERE THERE IN JUNE SO I AM SURE TIME OF YEAR HAS IMPACT ON THE BEACH. WE ALSO WALKED AROUND HEDO (NO PASS NEEDED, AS THE BEACH IS IN FACT PUBLIC) AND AGREE IF YOU WANT TO SEE LOTS OF FAT PEOPLE WITH LOTS OF TATTOOS LYING AROUND WITH LEGS HANGING OPEN SO YOU GET A REALLY GOOD VIEW OF THEIR PRIVATES (THEY SEEM TO BE SO PROUD OF THEIR THINGIES) GO HAVE A LOOK. DO NOT EXPECT TO SEE ANY HOT SEXY THINGS THOUGH 'CAUSE THEY AIN'T THERE.

THE WEEK WE WERE AT SANDALS WE DID NOT SEE ANY TOPLESS AT SANDALS BUT DID SEE SOME AT THE BEACHES INN JUST DOWN THE WAY, WHICH IS A FAMILY PLACE WITH KIDS ALLOWED (NO KIDS AT SANDALS).
