Hotel for 1 night in Montego Bay
My husband and I will be in Montego Bay for 1 night before heading off to Royal Plantation. Will you please recommend a nice hotel either on the beach or within walking distance? Not looking for super fancy (Ritz, Round Hill, etc.) but it must be safe and clean.

Perhaps Richmond Hill Inn. On a mountainside, not the beach, but nice view. Honestly the EP hotels on the beach in MoBay aren't much...at least the ones I've seen.
El Greco has elevator access to the hip strip and when we stayed there in 2000 or so it was secure, clean, and our suite was comfortable and large with kitchen and living area. No sea view though, except in a few units.

Sandals Caribbean and Sandals Montego Bay are both on the beach. They also have Sandals Inn which is literally across the road from the beach.
Breezes Mobay is also on the beach. These are all inclusives though. They are also pretty close to the airport.
Richmond Hill is technically within walking distance from the beach, but it's a long walk.

Just thought "close to the beach".
I'll redo :
The Gloucestershire Hotel and The Doctor's Cave Beach Hotel are both right across the street from the beach and are on the Hip Strip. Liza's recommendation of El Greco holds true.
I also think Wyndham does have a EP...they too are on the beach.
Half Moon is also on the beach...but that might be considered "super fancy"?

Rack rate for the Ritz is $229 lowest room...Half Moon starts at $225 so i guess they're both "super fancy".
I think we paid just over $100 for El Greco, a 1BR suite, it looks like the Wyndham costs about the same.
