Hotel Flamboyant

Is the Flamboyant Hotel a good choice for 3 nights? Any recommendations?

Where are you talking about? I've stayed at the Flamboyant on Grenada, pre Hurricane Ivan, and enjoyed our stay. We were there a week. Several restaurants within walking distance.

I have stayed there also, (Grenada) but it was pre-hurricane. It was fine. Very close to restaurants and groceries, although the hike up the hill can be hard when it is really hot outside. But the rooms have kitchens, etc. or they did when I was there. The food at the hotel was so-so, there are much better places to eat in Grand Anse. Overall it was a nice place to stay. GL

I also stayed at the Flamboyant pre hurricane and have heard from several people from post hurricane. It was a much better than fine hotel if you get the right rooms as it has breathtaking views of the ocean, beach and beautiful town of St. Georges...I gather they have done fantastic repairs and the island is doing well...for more information go to www.grenadaexplorer.com and navigate your way to the forum - the website is so popular with passionate people about Grenada that they had to separate the chat forum to accomodate so you will find all you need there!

Thumbs up for the Flamboyant. Lawrence, the ever so capable manager, was trained at Humber College in Canada. Here's a vignette - in the aftermath of Ivan, he grilled lobsters for guests in the hotel parking area, rather than have them go bad in the freezer.

All the rooms have been refurbished and refurnished since Ivan. The restaurant has been rebuilt as has the bar (for insomniacs it is open until 3am every day set down the hill so guests who want to sleep are not disturbed)
Plans are going ahead to build a gym and to add a hot tub come whirlpool bath above the swimming pool.
It is definately a good place to stay.
