Hi, my fiance and I are looking for a place to honeymoon in the carribean. Im looking for advice on which island best suits ours desires. What we're looking for is: All-inclusive resorts, white-sand turqoise gorgeous beaches, safety in roaming around and exploring the island. Got any advice on particular islands to focus are search on?

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I'm not sure what your budget is since one person's reasonable may be another's outrageously expensive. And you don't say when you're planning to go (there's a big difference in hotel prices between the low and high seasons).

That said, I'll make one suggestion. Coral Gardens Beach Resort in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, is on one of the most outstanding white sand beaches in the Caribbean - Grace Bay. The water is as beautiful torqoise color as you'll ever see anywhere. And Provo is extremely safe so there are no worries at all in exploring.

Coral Gardens is a great little boutique hotel with a wonderful restaurant on an island that has numerous excellent restaurants at all price ranges. And the hotel sits right in front of a very good snorkeling reef (there are also other great places to snorkle on Provo and the neighboring islands of the Turks & Caicos).

Coral Gardens offers a very attractive honeymoon package that covers all of your meals and includes many extras, including daily use of a rental car, spa treatments and a sunset sail cruise (http://www.coralgardens.com/the_reso...on_package.php). You can also arrange through the hotel to explore some of the other islands in the Caicos.

Laby,

I liked Coral Gardens but that looks very expensive to me! The cheapest package is $612pp per night - and thats 2005 rates (High Season)

The only extras that I can see are: Lunch and Dinner
Beverages
A sunset sail cruise
One dinner at Coyaba Restaurant
Daily car rental

You'd have to drink and eat an awful lot of food - the beach cafe food was nice but I wouldn't have wanted to eat there every meal.

We hired a car and while I can't remember the exact price it was around $200.

efielder - When are you going? and as Laby askes What is your budget?

I agree the Coral Gardens' honeymoon package is expensive during high season but it would, I assume, be significantly lower in the low season. As efiedler didn't say when they would be going or what their budget will be, I threw it out as an option they could consider if it fit within their spending limit. The extras offered under the honeymoon plan would qualify it as effectively an all-inclusive and, as expensive as it is, it's still less expensive than comparable packages offered by most of the better resorts on Provo.

Laby,

absolutely!! It's a good starting point.

We stayed at CG on a "Pay for one night get one free" offer in the Low Season (they upgraded us to an Oceanfront Grande Suite), so it pays to shop around and check out all the options

Until efielder comes back with more information it's going to be hard to give specific advise

Where are they traveling from?
How long is the Honeymoon?
Where have they visited that they liked?

and of course the main issue - how much does he/she want to spend?

I'm not a fan of all-inclusive... I think they are overpriced and overrated. I loved Hopetown in the Abaco islands in the Bahamas. Very charming, quite, romantic and a great place to stay. Do a google search for Honeymoon Cottage - Hopetown Bahamas.

Congrats on your engagement!
