honeymoon help

My future husband and I have a choice between staying at the Marriott Surf Club Aruba or the Marriott Renaissance Aruba on our honeymoon in September. Any opinions as to which we should do? Help! Your honeymoon only happens once!

The Marriott Surf Club is on the beach and the Renaissance is in town. Which do you prefer? Beach hotel or hotel in town?

Beach definately, but I thought the Renaissance had a great private beach. Is it a pain in the neck to get to?

You will have to get into a small boat and ride over to their private beach which is on an island. I do not know the frequency of the boat. Maybe a call to the hotel could tell you the frequency of the boat and the time it takes to get there.

The Surf Club is brand new, is an all-suites resort, and is located on a great stretch of beach; the Renaissance is much older, in town and as mentioned, you have to take a water shuttle to their private island to enjoy their beach. Hands down for me it would be the Marriott Surf Club.

Personally I would vote for the Surf Club as it is new and directly on the beach. Renaissance has 2 locations downtown; one is directly on a busy/noisey street and the other is across the street on a small man-made beach right by the Seaport Village area. The boat to the private island departs about every 15-20 minutes and the island closes at I think 6pm. In-town is a good location if you want to be able to walk to different shops and restaurants.
