Help with destination

Can someone please recommend a place for my husband and my 7th anniversary. I apologize for being so vague, but we are really struggling here. I will be 5 months pregnant at the time and we will be going end of Sept - early Oct for just 4-5 days from Atlanta (last "baby-boom" trip before the craziness starts). I can't seem to find the perfect Caribbean destination to fit all our needs.
Here they are...
-relatively easy flight from Atlanta and not a long trek to hotel from the airport.
-good healthcare in the event it is needed for me.
-we want to plant ourselves on a beach resort (prefer beach front) for the duration of the time - not looking for wild partying, casino's, nightlife, that is not imprtant to us, just good food, and a calm, serene, laid back atmosphere. Less crowded the better.
-The best beach with calm, clear swimming waters and white sand would be our hot button.
-My husband would love to stay in a little villa/cabana type room that sits above the ocean where you are basically right on the water.
-some mild excursions/activities would be a preference, such as boat tours, kayaking waterways, local shopping market.

I wanted Anguilla but can't get there this time of year. Also considered Antigua but can't seem to find a flight there either.

We would highly appreciate advice from any Caribbean experts who have traveled extensively and can give us some ideas.
A recommendation for destination and hotel would be terrific.

We are most appreciative of your recommendations and advice.

Wow. a tall order....and congrats on the baby-to be! St. Kitts is very laid back, as is Nevis, but I am not sure if that will fit your bill. I am sure that MarionCK, ejcrowe, girlonthego and others will chime in. How about St. Thomas? I would plug in a few destinations from Atlanta, on orbitz, for a look-see, to get a feel for the easiest place to get to from your area and go from there, but that is my OP>
Good luck!

How about Turks and Caicos at the new Somerset. they are running specials right now. There is a direct flight on Delta maybe 2.5 hour flight from Atlanta. Very beautiful white powder beach, great restaurants

I second the Turks and Caicos. Have been there 20+ times and love it. The beach and water is fantastic. The Somerset has been getting very good writeups. Check out the on line magazine of the Turks and Caicos.

Thanks guys for all for the quick replies. Provo Turks & Caicos is a great recommendation however Delta has no flights there from Sept 28 - Oct 3. Does anyone know why it is so hard to get a flight to select Caribbean destinations this time of year? Seems all the places that suit us we can't get to. This is our biggest challenge. I know this is hurricane season but hotels are up and running. I have oodles of points with Delta we'd like to use, so flying Delta would be the most logical and economical choice.

Well, Jamaica is an easy flight from Atlanta on Delta or Air Jamaica, but the places I'd recommend there are a pretty long drive from the airport.

As for the healthcare, chances are if you needed something specialized you'd have to be medi-vac'ed to the US or Puerto Rico. I understand wanting to have medical care on hand at 5 months pregnant, but really, if you need more than just a casual office visit for nausea treatment or something straightforward like a broken arm, you'd want to be in the US for that and not anyplace in the Caribbean. So in that sense, it doesn't really matter where you go, as just about any island can provide that basic level of care. Some larger hotels even provide a doctor on call.

Anyway, if you want a short ride from the airport, consider Round Hill or Half Moon, two resorts in the Montego Bay area. I don't know much about them, but there are many posters here who do. If you could stand a longer ride from the airport, Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios would be a good choice ( I don't know much about them, but Marion (a very knowledgable poster here) seems to like Linda Smith's Villas in Jamaica.

Aruba is probably also a nonstop flight from Atlanta. You could consider the Bucuti Resort ( as a very nice, romantic, couples-oriented destination. And the beach is pure heaven.

I imagine you can also fly nonstop to St. Thomas or St. Maarten. Neither of which I would necessarily recommend, but if you could stand a ferry transfer, you could get to St. John frmo St. Thomas, and you could get to Anguilla from St. Maarten that way. Both St. John and Anguilla are blessed with great beaches. And there are simply TONS of trip reports here on St. John, as it has become one of the most popular destinations on this forum.

Good luck finding the perfect spot for a bit of rest & relaxation before the baby. You might also want to consider choosing a place with a spa for a bit of pampering--if you can't overindulge on the rum drinks, you might as well be decadent in other areas!

There should be direct flights from ATL to St.Thomas & I DO recommend it. Check out Morningstar Beach Club section of Marriott's Frenchman's Reef or for a quieters spot also right on a beach, get a condo at Secret Harbor.

If you need the name of a good OB-GYN here I can recommend one. Decent hospital, too.

Ah, yes, would love to get to Anguilla, my first choice, but again there are no flights to St Maarten,Martin that time of year, and this is the only way to get to Anguilla as far as I know. Also, most of the island shuts down in late Sept/October so we are out of luck there.
I am going to look into St. Thomas and Aruba (comforting to be outside the hurricane belt as well).
My DH is more concerned about healthcare than I am - just in case we should have a pg emergency or something. Because we plan to take it easy, it does not really worry me.
Thanks a to any more suggestions, but looking into Aruba and St. Thomas...
I''ve also considered Eleuthera or the Exuma Islands Bahamas.
