I would doubt you will have etickets in the Bahamas and since computers are a bit on the scarce side and internet connection is not available all the time, my guess is that you will be issued tickets on your way down, or you might think about getting paper tickets for the trip at Continental directly.

I chuckle when I hear the word "airport" and North Eleuthera, is is a bit nicer now, but when I started going to Harbour Island, I kid you not the "airport" was a shack, on a strip of dirt runway, and on both sides of the "runway" were very small crashed planes stuffed into the trees. lol.
That's all gone now, and the airport has been updated. There's a snack bar and chairs and the runway has been redone a few times and lengthened last year to accomodate larger planes.

As you start to decend to land at N. Eleuthera, look out the window, because just before you land the water is so clear you can see the fish and all the way to the bottom, it's quite beautiful.

Well we're down to the wire now and the wedding is only 5 days away and the honeymood 6! I'm very excited to headed to Harbour Island and especially Coral Sands. I plan on trying as many of the restaurants and suggestions that everyone has mentioned. A couple final questions before we leave though. I knwo the exchange rate for US dollars and bahamian Dollars is 1=1 but when spending cash do people there perfer one over the other? will I need to exchange any money or do they care at all if it's US$.

Thanks again for all the wonderful help and I'll be sure to give a report when I get back.

Bill

No Bill, you don't need to exchange any US dollars for Bahamaian, but you will get a mixture of US and Bahamaian money when you pay for things and make sure you use up all the Bahamian bills before you head home. Also keep some extra cash for the departure tax which I think is $15 and that is paid in cash, unless it was added on to your plane ticket.

When you land at the dock, look for Reggie and please give him a HUG for me. Reg will take you on a tour of the island, if requested on your way to Coral Sands. Also BIG RED is your bar keep there, and he does a mean Goombay Smash.

I haven't been down to the island in a few years and really miss being there, so I am a bit green you are going so soon.

If you get up to Runway for dinner, and I HIGHLY suggest making reservations there, please tell everyone I send love.

Have a GREAT time and let us know all about the trip when you get back. OF course if you have any other questions, please let me know.

Bill,
Congratulations to you and your fiance! I think Harbour Island will be a wonderful spot for a honeymoon. When we were there in November, we didn't rent a golf cart and just enjoyed walking everywhere together. Do splurge on your dinners--the restaurants are terrific.

All the best!
