Grocery Stores on St. Kitts
We may be renting a condo instead of Sugar Bay AI. What can we expect in the grocery stores? We're on a budget and thinking we'd do breakfasts, pack lunches and 1 or 2 meals in. Thinking pasta? What kind of selection of foods do they offer in the stores? Any store better than others? Condo is located near Marriott.

Rams is the main store, there is one near the marriott, one in town also. Its fine pretty well stocked, you will have no problem getting pasta, etc. they sell lunch meat, like oscar meyer type stuff. Really basic stuff. But I think enough to get you through.

Be sure and go into town and go to the fresh farmers market for fresh fruits and vegetables. Also, right outside the market, there were always fishermen selling their fresh catch...but you need to get there fairly early in the morning. Both good and inexpensive alternatives to the grocery store.

Local supermarkets in town:
Rams: Monday-Saturdays 9AM-6PM
9AM-7Pm in Bird Rock
IGA: Mondays-Thursdays 9AM-6PM
Fridays - Saturday 9AM-8PM
Sunday's 9AM-12PM
When the container ships come in on Thursday (I believe) that is the best day to shop.
Food is obviously going to be more expensive than back home as everything is imported.

You must be staying at Sea Lofts? You find lots of inexpensive beach bars down the street on the Caribbean beach.

We stayed in St. Kitts for two weeks (Ihave had to change my name here on the forum) and we had a condo - we shopped at IGA for the first week and then were referred by a local to RAMS at the edge of town - better prices - there is a great selection of food on the island...if they don't have somethign you want from home they will have a great alternative and it appears lots of American stuff.
We made Tuna sandwiches, pasta, grilled cheese, salads, pizza, soups etc....breakfast and coffee on my (my?!?!?) veranda was sensational every morning - beats the heck out of having to fuss at a restaurant every day for all three meals and then we had more money for great dinners - make sure you plan well they have really great selection of places on a small island from affordable yummy to high end yummy!
