Would prefer an island that is not too difficult for guests to get to. I like smaller resorts- does not have to be 5 star, but not too rugged. Any great little hotesl, resorts that you think would be special for a wedding.

Check out Point Grace in the Turks & Caicos, www.pointgrace.tc There was a wedding when I stayed there and it was just beautiful. They made an "aisle" on the beach with conch shells filled with flowers. Spectacular beach and easy to get to from U.S.

We renewed our vows at Blue Waters in Antigua & it was perfect. Have a look at their website www.bluewaters.net or this year we stayed at Galley Bay Antigua, also lovely, but not quite such a perfect setting for the weddings. please email if you have any questions.

How about the ocean club in the bahamas? I was in a wedding there several years ago and it was truly fantastic - they had a large affair but I am sure that they would do any size simply wonderfully

There is a real nice, but smaller resort in Negril (Jamaica) called Coco LaPalm. I have stayed here twice, and know the management well. They put on a great wedding. 2 couples I know have been married on the beach at sunset (I was in both weddings). Most beautiful wedding photos I have ever seen. They will make it perfect for you!

We just returned from Tortola BVI and it was beautiful. 1/2 hour flight from San Juan or by water taxi from St. Thomas. Many other nearby islands to sail to or take a water taxi.
Check out fortrecovery.com (The Villas of Fort Recovery Estate) --they were setting up for a wedding when we visited the hotel--we stayed at the Sugar Mill. Rated triple diamond by AAA. Nice breezes and view of other islands from beach. Good luck.

Have you looked at the Brimstone Hill Fortress location in St. Kitts? I think it would be ideal if you are a person who loves history, especially the 18th century. The fortress, about ten miles from Basseterre, sits atop a hill with a wonderful view of the Caribbean Sea on one side, its cannons pointed outwards to protect the island from naval attack and to keep the surrounding waters safe for Britain. Very peaceful and quiet scenery. On the opposite side, the National Park slopes upwards in various colors of green as the forest thickens towards the mountain top.

I got married at Long Bay Hotel on Antigua earlier this year and couldn't have been more pleased. Antigua is easily accessible by both direct flights from US and connecting through San Juan. The hotel is small (20 rooms, 4 cottages), family-run, and has a long time staff who know the place inside and out. We opted to get married under a large gazebo a few steps from the beach, but the hotel will work with you to get married in any location (one couple wanted to get married out on Devil's Bridge and they arranged it all). They offered us very reasonable per person rates that included breakfast and dinner each day for our guests (we had 40 adults & kids) and extended the same discounted rate to guests who wanted to stay on longer for a vacation. It's on the less touristed east coast of Antigua, set on a narrow spit of land with water on two sides: the calm Caribbean fronts a stretch of white sand beach on one side and a large bay that empties into the Atlantic fronts the other side. It's not 5 star (no AC, no TVs, no marble tubs) but it offers plenty of ameneties to keep your guests comfortable. Most of all, the staff is so genuinely warm and welcoming that we all felt as if we were staying at a friend's beach house rather than a hotel. With our 40 guests we had the run of the entire place, which also contributed to the house party effect, but I felt the same way when I first visited Long Bay a few years ago. You might look in to the Bucuti or Amsterdam Manor on Aruba.

The island is safe. No bugs will bother you. You can drink the water everywhere. The people are very friendly. US dollar is accepted and English is widely spoken.
