Anyone tied the knot in GC??

Has anyone gotten married on the beach in Grand Cayman? If so, please tell where the absolute best place is to have a sunset ceremony on the island. Many thanks!!

We were at the Grand Old House recently for dinner just after a wedding had taken place at sunset and it looked wonderful. I am not sure that weddings take place on the beach - probably in the gazebo, but well worth having a look at their website www.grandoldhouse.com

Contact a wedding planner there for this!! I saw a wedding there on the beach at sunset, and it was awesome! I wish I could be more helpful, it was near 7 mile beach.
Thanks for the replies! I guess I really can't wrong at any spot on 7 mile beach. I have contacted a couple wedding planners. If anyone can recommend a specific spot though please write!!

I can't comment on a location on SMB as we were married on the North Side. But I will say that Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Jackson of Cayman Weddings were terrific!

Sue-

I have been emailing Mr. Jackson and am leaning toward using them to coordinate our wedding. I feel so much better after having heard your recommendation. Thanks so much! By the way, where exactly were you married?

We were married at The Driftwood, the bar next to our condo. We were introduced there by the owner, the late, great Otto. We have both been coming to the North side for almost 30 years, so we had mostly local friends at the ceremony (plus our various kids who flew down as a surprise). We did a very casual thing, but the Jacksons can cater to whatever your wishes are. Good luck!

We got married at the Westin on the beach. It was beautiful, wonderful. Noel Johnson married us for very reasonable. We didn't contact him until we arrived, and it saved us a bundle. He met us a couple of days ahead of time and "counseled us." A very sweet, lovely man. He brought along a photographer--Randy, who was also very reasonable. He brought us a complete wedding albumn before we left for home. It was just a fabulous experience--no guests, just the two of us, Randy & Noel. Afterwards we had dinner @ Papagallo. Great.

I may be late posting a reply to this, but we had such a wonderful time getting married on Grand Cayman, I had to tell!! Mr. Vernon Jackson did the ceremony right on 7 mile beach (we had rented a condo there). It was perfect! Our wedding was Oct. 2001, and about 5 p.m. was the perfect sunset time. Mr. Jackson had a photographer who took lovely pictures, and he delivered them to us personally before we left to return home. It was a great all around experiance!!

Molly -

It was great to read your post! I am getting married on the beach at sunset in December by the Jacksons. Did you use the spot on north 7MB that they have or on the beach at your condo? Where did you stay?

We were married near the condo we stayed at on 7MB. The condos are the one near the Treasure Island Resort (southern 7MB). It was probably 10 feet from the water - perfect!!
