I'll be visiting Grand Cayman from August 27th to September 1st. Any clues on weather at this time of year? Rainy? Hot? Hurricanes?<BR><BR>Also, I've booked an ocean front room at the Westin for $115. Westin.com is offering pretty good rates for this non-peak time, plus, I had a 50% off rack rate coupon.

The weather can be very hot (90s) and buggy ( no see um's and mosquitoes), and yes, it is hurricane season, which is why hotels at that time are so deeply discounted. The Westin is a beautiful hotel, great location on the best part of the beach, but the rooms can be quite small and cramped. Still, at that rate, it's an excellent deal. Have a great time!

We stayed at the westin a couple of years ago. We do alot of travelling as a family and found this place to be just what we wanted. Rooms were lovely and the beach was the best on the island. Great rate you've got.

Wow, that is an awesome rate!! I paid roughly $300/night, maybe more, for an oceanview last Jan....I felt soooo ripped off. The exterior of the hotel is nice and the pool and beach area are great, but the rooms are horrible!! They are tiny and nondescript.. Felt like I paid $300 bucks for a HOJO that could have been in Toledo...But at that rate, it is worth going to the Westin..

Thanks to all for info. Yes, the rate is hard to beat even if this property is not on par with other Westin's through out the world (which I've stayed). Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Heat is not a problem, hurricanes are another story!<BR><BR>Thanks again....Matt
