Grand Cayman, Bahamas, Hawaii (big island) or where for work incentive trip??? HELP!
We are trying to plan a work incentive trip for a group of people (approximately 10 couples). We are looking for a resort preferably right on the beach with lots of amenities, on an island with decent shopping. Also, we'd like to be able to have other excursions(IE: last year we went to Maui and did a snorkel trip, luau and a sunset sail). People will be traveling from all over the nation so it would be nice if we could get there fairly easy. Since we're trying to address different interests, (IE: some like to snorkel and dive while others would rather shop and sunbathe) and provide plenty to do, we really need some help! Thanks!

I would think that since you did a hawaiian island last year, the Carribbean might be a nice change. The Bahama's might be closer, but GC may be the best choice, and still easy to get to. Nice beaches and pristine water for the sunbathers, Stingray City for your snorklers and shopping is ok. The Westin does a lot with groups, and may suit you.

The Bahamas is a great idea, since it takes much less time to get there and your co-workers would be on the beach by noon.
There are several nice places to stay on New Providence (Nassau) and Paradise Island.
You might look into the Raddison on Cable Beach and they have an AI plan or try the Ocean Club on Paradise Island.
There's also Compas Point which has cute bungalows right on the beach and one of the best restaurants on island.
For one of the out islands, try one of several hotels on Harbour Island that would fit the bill, like Romora Bay or very upscale, Pink Sands.
On Harbour Island there is a very well known dive shop called Valentine's and they offer resort dive courses and do shallow and deep dives and snorkle trips. You can also do a "picnic" on a deserted island for a day with the whole crew and that's alot of fun.
The Raddison and Compas Point and Ocean Club are used to dealing with groups, so that would be a good place to start.
You could also arrange a day trip to the Exumas or a snorkle or Dive trip with Stuart Cove and they could go over to Eleuthera, Harbour Island or Spanish Wells (that's a really interesting island, Spanish Wells) for a day on the Fast Ferries.
Here are a few websites that may help.

When are you planning to take this trip? The Four Seasons Emerald Bay on Exuma is taking reservations for January of 2004. It looks like that resort has everything you are looking for. If it's not in your time frame then I would suggest the Ocean Club or (please do not slam me for this suggestion, as it is only a suggestion) Atlantis. I know Atlantis has gotten a bad rap here on this board. But I have to say after a lousy frist trip last year (in which I found every lousy report about the place to be correct) we went again this May. I thought I was in a completly different resort. The room was clean and beautiful and the service was friendly and fast. The pools were clean and there was plenty of pool chairs for everyone - no weasles. The beach was beautiful and the beach service was excellent! We also won some serious $$ in the casino. Most noticeable was the improvement of the food quality. We were going there expecting the same old atlantis crap, but we were VERY plesantly surprised. Having said my piece, I think it may be fun as a large group to go to Atlantis, stay in the Royal Towers, eat, drink, shop, watersports, golf, gambling, nightlife.
I know its easy to bash Atlantis, as I have in the past, but after just returning from there, Atlantis has made some very serious changes....maybe they read Fodors!

For an incentive trip, I think Atlantis would be great if families participate. If only couples, I might lean toward OC, if in the price range. Depending on the time of year, I think you can't beat Bermuda for ease of access and shopping. I'd also consider Puerto Rico.
