Getting a bit nervous about our Sandals honeymoon!

I have been reading the Fodors boards and was encouraged by the reviews of the Sandals Royal Bahamian. Recently, I read a board at another travel site that had horrible reviews. Is there anyone out there that can help ease my fears? We are getting married in August and have already put the deposit down for our honeymoon. My fiance and I want a luxurious all-inclusive vacation and thought the Royal Bahamian would be it! Help!!

I would not worry a bit - you are always going to see bad reveiws about resorts as everyone expects different things.

We found the resort to be very nice - the grounds are beautiful, main beach small but loved the off shroe island (more private and tropical), two pools are absolutely huge and very impressive and did not have one bad meal - great selection.

Go and have a wonderful time and congrats!!

I had the same response (stomach pains!!) after reading some horrible reviews online. You have to remember that the people who wrote those bad reviews could either a.) complain about everything, or b.) be getting paid by a competitor to post that kind of stuff.

I have spoken to quite a few people and they say it's beautiful.

My husband and I are leaving on Fri (6/14) to stay there, and will be back on Monday (6/17). I'll post my thoughts after the trip.

That resort was recently rated one of the top 100 resorts in the world. I believe it was by Conde Nast. If not than Travel & Leisure.

It may well be one of the top 100 resorts in the world (since most of the world's best resorts are in the US or neighboring areas) but it's still not in the top 20 in the Caribbean.

I would request a switch to Sandals Antigua--better property.

Message: You've got many many years before you become as critical as I and others can be about vacations to the islands. Go, enjoy, laugh, cry, but most of all "Don't worry, Be Happy"! This is YOUR lifetime moment, we are here on these posts because we like to gripe about places we have been to that don't meet our standards or expectations, but if I'm with the one I love NOTHING can take that away or make it "awful". Come back to this board and tell us how wonderful it was!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Royal Bahamian is my favorite of the Sandals I have stayed at.
I thought is was definately the most upscale of the chain.
Besides Ocean Club, it is in my opinion the best hotel in Nassau.
Go and have a wonderful honeymoon, just remember nothing is perfect, Bahmaians are not the worlds friendliest people and service is often slow in the island.
