Ferry Question Btw LDB and St. Thomas
So with the help of Fodorites, we've decided to do 4 nights in Virgin Gorda at LDB and then 4 nights in St. Thomas. We're planning to do LDB first to avoid any ferry hassles on the day we fly out. Only problem is that the day we fly in is a Sunday. I understand that the ferries dont run as frequently on Sunday.
LDB only pointed us to the Tortola High Speed Ferry (so we would go St. T to Tortola to VG) and the timing doesnt work for our flight. Are there more options - for example, google searching turned this up http://www.vinow.com/general_usvi/interisland_ferry/ which would seem to work.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has actually been there and has experience with the ferry system (or who did this on Sunday before even!).
Also, any sense of whether these high speed ferries are okay for a pregnant woman (p.s. we're planning to sit by the beach for 8 days so I'm not looking to start another thread on the pros/cons of the VI during pregnancy).
Thanks as always!

I can't imagine that the high-speed ferry would be a problem for you. But I don't know enough about the schedules to give you any advice there. One possibility might be the ferry between Caneel Bay and Little Dix Bay. I don't know when it runs, but you might be able to pay to use that as well as the private ferry from St. Thomas to Caneel Bay.
Another option would be a flight. There are regularly scheduled flights. According to their schedule there are flights at 3:15 and 5:30 from St. Thomas. This costs about twice the price of the ferry but would probably be cheaper than a water taxi.

So we actually just confirmed BUT I'm feeling pretty confident we'll be able to make it. Apparently we'll have to connect through Tortola, and if we won't be able to make it in time to Tortola to catch the connecting ferry to VG then LDB has a ferry that leaves from the LDB airport office in Tortola...so we'll taxi over to that and just pre-schedule.
Whew. Mission accomplished. Thanks for everyone's help. BVI here we come!
