Bahamas- which island?
My husband and I are planning a trip to the Bahamas in Feb. We like luxury hotels, love to snorkel, lay around the pool/beach and eat wonderful food. Not into shopping or big crowds.
Which island/hotels would you suggest?
Also, we picked the bahamas b/c we only have around five days and we will be coming from North Dakota. I thought the travel time would be a little shorter than other destinations in the caribbean. Thanks!

You might look at the Ocean Club on Paradise Island, flying into Nassau and it's a cab ride away.
Also there's a Four Seasons that opened not long ago on Exuma that has gotten good reviews.
Several nice places on Harbour Island also would be a nice fit for you and you might try some of these websites.
www.rockhousebahamas.com
www.runawayhill.com
www.coralsands.com
www.islandoutpost.com
www.romorabay.com
Also Dunsmore Beach is an upscale spot right on the beach, but not sure of the website.
For info on the island try:
www.briland.com
www.myharbourisland.com
www.bahamas.com
Have a great time,

Also adding one I forgot:
www.cocodimama.com
Coco Di Mama is a lovely resort on Eleuthera close to Govenours Harbour Airport and RIGHT ON the beach.
Hope this helps.

Nodak, do you realize it will be rather chilly in the Bahamas in February? Lower humidity and average temps of 65 to 75 (with five degrees lower in the northern bahamas) - I know it's HOT compared to North Dakota, but kind of chilly for snorkeling and sunbathing...
You might want to consider Puerto Rico - either San Juan or even Vieques or Culebra - it will be warmer, and perhaps not much longer travel, since SJU is a main hub in the Caribbean.
