We spent a very dry week in Negril in Jan 2000. One night we were chilly and put on long sleeves, that was it.

Sometimes there are winter storms that make the water rougher.

Some parts of Jamaica get more rain - Ocho Rios is wetter than Negril, Port Antonio is wettest and Treasure beach is driest...it's a large island and the interaction between tradewinds and mountains has a lot to do with it.

Don't forget guys that this IS an El Nino weather year. So weather all over the world may be off.

And just because it is the "dry" season in the winter in the Caribbean, it does not mean that it will not rain. Remember it is the tropics and it is lush and green because of the rain.

Poptart: You should be more careful not to lump the entire Caribbean into the "lush and tropical" category.
