Caymans and prices
I can't believe a 6 pack of beer is $10!!!! I know the Caymans have stingray beer is that any cheaper. Just wondering what my husband will do at the beach--He has to have beer...are there any cheaper beers? I can't picture my self carrying a couple of cases of beer on the plane. My husband was wondering about buying a Keg to last us 9 days. Any info appreciated

Leaving in less than 3 days. Hoping those storms blow away and we have a nice visit.

Also wondering, Is Cayman rum resonable if so does anyone know how much?
Um, I hope to not offend you, but you have (unwittingly???) chosen one of THE most expensive Caribbean destinations possible.
Just to warn you, if you are worried about a six pack setting you back $10 and the price of rum, you are going to shriek when you see the prices for food and everything else in the Caymans.
Better arrange with your bank for a transfer from savings before you leave, or let your credit card company know what is coming.

Suzanne,
Go to Big Daddy's Liquor store, it's next to Foster's Grocery by the airport. You can get a case of beer there for around $30 US. We have tried Stingray beer, and it's a bit cheaper, but it awful, IMO!!! They usually only rent kegs out for parties, I know because I have tried also. Cayman rum is very cheap. I think Tortuga Rum is like $8.00 fifth. Have a great trip, and don't let the prices scare you!! It's worth it!!!
Sandy

The prices in the Caymans are very high. I bought beer, 2 six packs budlight and 1 six pack coorslight and Big Daddy's liquor store next Fosters at the airport and it cost $27US. At night I like to drink vodka martinis and they cost $9US. Just be prepared when you go to the Caymans to spend money and you will have a blast!!!! Remember looking at the prices on the caymansrestaurant.com website, the prices are in CI.

We've packed a case of beer in a hard sided suit case on several trips, never had a problem with it leaking. That also leaves us extra room on the way home, making packing and purchases easier to pack. Not so bad and worth the effort. I did not care for stingray beer and could not find any specials, no happy hours. You'll love Cayman, I do!
