Caribbean in September

Could someone tell me where would be the best places in the Caribbean to visit in September? I notice many places shut down hotels/restaurants during this time of year, and we don't want total desolation. Other than Aruba being outside the hurricane belt, any other suggestions? Trying to book a trip for Labor Day week.

Bermuda is still in high season in Sept. It is a beautiful time to visit.

Barbados is wonderful, and nearly as hurricane-free as Aruba. Major impact maybe once in 50 years.

I'd suggest your looking into Tobago as well as Barbados. I'd stay away from Bermuda and most of the rest of the Caribbean in September. It can be terrific-- of course-- but it's the height of hurricane season, and, as you know, that season seems to be getting more violent. Good luck!

Other places to check out:
Curacao
Trinidad and Tobago
Grenadines
Bermuda(I've been there in September when the most of the Caribbean was in the middle of a hurricane and we were fine. I would have no problems going again in September)
