Caribbean Honeymoon? Help!
I am getting married in November and my fiance' and I are in the process of trying to decide where we want to go for our honeymoon. We are looking for a tropical location that offers a relaxing environment that is not so commercialized. We are also interested in hiking, snorkeling, sailing, site-seeing, etc... We want a romantic getaway but at the same time we want some adventure too.
The places we are interested in are St. Kitts & Nevis, Bonaire, Turks & Caicos, St. Barths and Los Cabos. Of these locations which would you recommend? Neither of us have been to any of these places so we are open to suggestions. Thanks!

Go to St. Barts and rent a villa all to yourselves. Gorgeous topography, fine restaurants, privacy of your own villa with it's own pool and maybe jacuzzi too, duty free shopping in Gustavia, snorkling trips available. Check out the St. Barts forum @ www.sbhonline.com and check out the pictures on that website.

There are many villas for rent that time of year for what a hotel would cost you or less:

Turks & Caicos would be great but might be a bit too cool that time of year since it's not that far south.
The regulars on the sbhonline website will be glad to help you and answer any questions if you decide to go that direction.

I don't know anything about your other choices, but I don't think Los Cabos will give you the non-commercialized, relaxing environment you're looking for. It's also not very tropical -- it's quite arid with dry and desertlike topography.

If money is no issue and you're looking for luxury, maybe St. Barths is the way to go. But I would actually recommend St. Kitts based upon what you are interested in. It's perhaps the most picturesque island in the Caribbean. St. Kitts has great hiking (easy rainforest hikes are available as well as a much more rigorous volcano hike), great snorkeling & sailing and a fortress (Brimstone Hill) dating back to the 1700s with spectacular views of nearby islands. It's not very commercial -- yet. It's got fantastic beaches. You should definitely check out Ottleys Plantation (Ottleys.com). I've also heard that the Four Seasons on Nevis is an amazing resort, but I think that there is a little more to do on St. Kitts.

Nevis and St. Kitts are a great idea. Check out both the Nisbet Plantation on Nevis and Ottleys on St. Kitts or consider splitting your time and staying at both. Another great option is St. John. Spectacular beaches, great for hiking, saling and other water excursions, plus shopping in Cruz Bay.
