Car Rental Options versus Taxi

Hey- The villa company had recommended GraceBay Car Rentals, but I had seen on another site, tripadvisor, that someone recommended Scooter Bobs? First, is it worth it to rent a car and who would you recommend? Second, what is the going rate for taxi's, say from Sapodilla Bay to the Golf Corse of Grocery Store? And thank you in advance for all your advice.

can't quote rates for taxi, have never used one. this is a small island but the golf course & grocery are almost as far as you can drive on provo from sopadilla. i have stayed in one of the ocean point villas (between sopadilla & taylor) and we would have been most unhappy without a car. there is nothing you'll be able to walk to or ride a bike to.
we have always used scooter because i think he is such a character. vehicles not top of line but they do fine or he gives you another one. we once had wipers that wouldn't go - got different jeep.
i've been reading these boards for years now and have never seen anyone complain about any of the provo renters. maybe you can find one that will bring your car to your villa. in past scooter has just left the car at our house so it was there when we arrived. then we drive to office for papers & to run credit card - usually the day after we arrive, which we combine with our 'big' grocery run. quite convenient.

Staying at Sapadilla Bay, you definately need a car-1 taxi ride will end up costing twice what a daily rental is-for only 1 ride!

Grace Bay Car Rentals has excellent customer service, they'll meet you at the airport, and you can leave the car at the airport. The cars are older and a little beat up, but do the job. You could also consider Avis as an alternative. Both companies have the best rates and excellent customer service.

Thank you so much...really appreciate all the help. We are so looking forward to this trip. We obviously don't get to go on trips like this all the time as it's a big expense and we want it to be as perfect as possible. As I think of other stuff, I will post it. Thanks again.

Go for the car! We have used Rent a Buggy. They will pick you up at the airport if needed.
