Bummer. Not going to T&C!

Skyauction.com is unable to fulfill my request for a stay at the Alexandra Resort in February. I am very disappointed.

Are there not other hotels on T&C?

skyauction may have other properties in Provo.
You could also check out luxurylinx.com (that might be wrong, I'll try to find it for you.) similar, so you can bid, and usually get a bunch of stuff thrown in.

Sounds like your addicted! ;-)

Have you been to Provo? If not, I'm posting tonight my book I just did on Blurb, it will make you want to go!

Oh, no! I'm sorry that happened to you. I've usually had good experiences with SkyAuction, but the same thing happened to me once. I had an amazingly low winning bid for Curtain Bluff in Antigua, and to this day I'm convinced that the resort backed out on me rather than lose money.

Yes, there are other hotels in Provo, but not at the price I was going to pay for the Alexandra. The only other property that I found on skyauction for T&C is the Comfort Suites which isn't on the same par as the Alexandra Resort. You are probably right, ejcrowe, about the resort backing out. I checked their availability and they do have rooms available the week I wanted to go.

Haven't been to T&C yet, blamona. Will check luxury link to see if they have anything there.

There are auctions going on for Timothy Beach Resort, St Kitts and Oualie Beach Resort, Nevis. Are you familiar with either of these?

I've visited both Timothy Beach and Oualie but never stayed at either one. I liked Nevis much better than I liked St. Kitts, so I would choose Oualie for a trip, but your tastes may vary. mymoosie has stayed at Oualie more than once and has pictures and summaries of her stays on her website that you can google under her username.

So how does that work with Skyauction? Did they charge you and now will refund you?

I recently noticed that Priceline now offers Provo for bidding, from a 3-star to a 4-star. I'm a huge Priceline fan. I've had some great wins with them (research is key to be happy with using them). I tried to bid for Easter week and was not successful. I didn't want to go higher than the price I bid (I might have been bidding too early). I have not seen any winning bids for Provo on biddingfortravel.com or betterbidding.com so I don't know which hotel the 4-star could be.
If you're that adventurous (ie okay with not knowing which hotel you'll get), you could try that.

Caribtraveler, Skyauction didn't charge me. From what I have learned so far, they don't charge your cc until they confirm your reservation if it is a "per night" auction. If you don't know your dates, you can pay now, and I assume they'd refund you if they couldn't confirm your res when you request your dates.

'm not adventurous enough to take a chance on Priceline for Provo. I guess we will just keep Provo on our "to go to" list for now. If we didn't have Valentines Resort on Harbour Island confirmed for May (which we got thru skyauction), I'd try and find something in Provo, since rates would be lower then than in Feb.

Duh....I also won an auction for Spice Island Resort. Maybe will try them for February. Why didn't I think of that before?

Virginia, thanks for the compliment! The cover is Pink Sands Beach in Harbour Island.

I'm actually considering posting my book on 23rd, I entered it in a blurb contest. I need everyone out there to vote for me, because the top 15 books in each catagory get judged for a prize.

So I need you guys!
