Bucuti negatives?

Smallish swimming pool.
But not very many people sharing it (60-70 rooms vs. 300-800 in other Aruba hotels).

Not as many bells and whistles as the much bigger "resort hotels" (e.g., no casino, which to me is not a negative).

BEST BEACH (together with Manchebo and Costa Linda).

Just found this bb and happy to share our Bucuti info.

We've been there twice and planning a third trip. Yes, it IS too good to be true and our only regret is we didn't discover it sooner. Bucuti may not have all the amenities of the high rise US chain resorts, but Bucuti is about more than just the amenimites.

To us, there are no negatives. It's our own little lalaland.

We loved the Bucuti. Stayed there 3 years ago. Had an oceanview room, small refrigerator and microwave, good size room and patio. We left the door open most of the time when we were in the room. Iguanas walked right up to the door, very pretty grounds, large beach, good restaurant, smaller type pool, friendly staff, good location. Enjoy it.

I think some people read all the raves about the Bucuti and then are disappointed when they get there and find out it is just a simple - almost modest - hotel. Not fancy; not luxurious; not 5-star.

But it's clean, well-maintained, well-managed, and on a superb beach. Also, smaller and quieter than most of the other hotels in Aruba. I would be thrilled to stay there (we saved a few bucks by bunking next door at the Manchebo), but it's not the Ritz. It is arguably the best overall value in Aruba.

Agree with Chazz. I heard so many raves on the BB's about Bucuti that I just had to check it out when I went to Aruba (stayed at LaCabana as a timeshare trade). Well, I couldn't believe that was the property everyone thinks is so great! It's got a great spot on the beach, but nothing else impressed. If the price is really low, then it is a great value. If you are looking for any amenities I would choose someplace else.

My wife and I stayed at Bucuti 2003 June. Its true that is is not a luxury place. There are hotels on both sides, so its not isolated. It is a wonderful place though. The staff is excellent, our room was simple but pleasant. Its a very well run, soulful place.
