In planning for our honeymoon we are torn between 2 restorts and I would like some help. What do you think would be best for two twenty-osomethings, Bucuti or Radisson? I want to be able to jetski and play volleyball while she relaxes on the beach. Can get a nicer room at Bucuti for the money...but are the grouds nearly as nice? Please send helpful thoughts.

My vote in your case is - Radisson! Have not actually stayed there but have read only good things about it! The Bucuti, where we have stayed and are returning to in January, is very much geared to peace and quiet - NO jetskis! The Radisson is in the high-rise section I believe: lots of watersports and much more activity in general.

Tim, <BR><BR>I agree with Sally. We stayed at the Bucuti and absolutely fell in the love with the place. But, if you are looking for volleyball and jetskis, you will be disappointed. The Bucuti is a small resort (63 rooms) with an enormous beach, but the resort caters to couples who are looking for peace and quiet. <BR><BR>Most of the watersports in Aruba are located at Palm Beach near the Radisson. We have not stayed at the Radisson, but I understand it's lovely. It's a much larger, high rise hotel with more luxurious rooms than the Bucuti. Also, their pool area is larger and more elaborate than the Bucuti's. But, you will be sharing a much smaller beach area with many, many more people at the Radisson than you would at the Bucuti. It's not like Ft. Lauderdale at Spring Break by any means, but there is no comparing the activity on Palm Beach to the are of Eagle Beach in front of the Bucuti. <BR><BR>It's a personal decision. The Bucuti was exactly what we were looking for, and it helped that it's so easy on the wallet! But, if you are looking for a lot of excitement and activity on the beach, the Radisson sounds like a better choice for you. <BR><BR>Have a great trip!

If the watersports and other activities are important, then the Radisson is definitely the right choice for you. <BR><BR>If other activities, such as a bar, happy hour, casino need to be considered, again Radisson would be the choice.<BR><BR>The grounds for both places both suit their personalities; one being a small, quiet beach resort; the other being a large luxury hotel. <BR><BR>the Bucuti has one of the most expansive beachfronts of all the resorts. <BR><BR>You could probably get a nice Deluxe Ocean view room at bucuti for the cost of a non-view room at the Radisson. However, the views over the courtyard at Radisson seem nice.<BR><BR>For my husband and I (2 forty-somethings looking for R&amp;R), the Bucuti was absolutely perfect.

Tim, I agree with all that's been said above but I wonder if a compromise couldn't be reached. Bucuti has the romantic honeymoon atmosphere and service along with their fabulous beach. Activities are nearby and you could grab a bus ($2RT)to get to the highrises for them. Afterall, you won't be jetskiing all day everyday would you? I believe Manchebo next door to Bucuti has pick up games of volleyball. The grounds (and rooms) at Bucuti are immaculate and well manicured but as mentioned by someone else, not quite as plush as Radison. The peaceful and tranquil nature of Bucuti is the name of the game here and what keeps us returning...and we are far from honeymooners.<BR><BR>I have up close and personal pictures of Bucuti if you'd like me to email them to you.
