Best way to keep the kids happy..
I am planning a family vacation in May to Cuba for 7 to 10 days with hubby and 2 kids 20yrs and 21yrs. We had sort of decided on Havana then to Trinidad and then.... end at a beach ~ maybe even an all inclusive ( although this is mostly to keep the 21 yr old happy ) Do you have any suggestions on a cultured/beach vaction? With enough action for the "kids"...
thanks

not like i knew this - but on searching = trinidad, cuba is a town of approx 75.000 in the province of Sancti Spíritus; southern coast in central cuba. it is a UNESCO world heritage site (for Valley of the Sugar Mills - apparently 70 still standing).
near good snorkeling too!
gosh i want to go to cuba.

If you're in Havana and only have 7 to 10 days total, then I'd rule out Holguin and stay with Varadero for beach time. Many don't realize just how big a country Cuba is. The island is over 1000 kilometers long and from Havana to Holguin will be a full day by bus. 12 to 14 hours of busride. Varadero is 2 hours away and has beautiful beaches.
Varadero is one of the major tourist destinations within Cuba and as such there is something for everybody. If your kids are bored there, then there is no hope for them.
Trinidad is a wonderful restored UNESCO World Heritage Site and despite the time it is worth a visit. One possibility would be to get into a resort on Playa Ancon, about 15 minutes away from Trinidad. You could then conbine both Trinidad and beach time. Great nightlife in Trinidad as well and only a short cab ride to the hotels on the beach.
Either way, enjoy your stay and enjoy Cuba. I'm back again for a 30 day trip beginning Feb 6th. Can't wait.
