Cuba or Brazil
Can someone help me decide between Cuba or Brazil for 10 days maybe more. I'm a solo traveler who love to photograph great buildings, wonderful sceenery and have a great interest in history. Maybe for a day or two on the beach but I'm mostly looking for great find.

My wife and I spent a week in Cuba in January. The people are warm and friendly. The architecture is fantastic. The beaches are as good as any anywhere. The only down side is that it is not at all cheap. Cubanos pay in pesos. Foreiners pay in convertible pesos. Prices for everything are similar to those in the US.

Hi, How can you compare,? Brazil is a huge country, do you know that continental US is smaller than Brasil, ?
what I mean there are so many different places , so many different scenarios to see in Brazil.
I am sure Cuba is very nice, but I agree than ift is better to be in a place where people are free to star with and secondly your choices to see fantastic places cannot compare.
Get a book abut Brazil and read a little I cannot tell you in two words all that is there to see. Of course ten days is not enough, but after reading you can choose in accordance with your preferences.
Rio is probably one of the cities in the world with the most beautiful scenery, the sea, the bays, the many islands in front, the beaches, the mountains, the tropical plants, and so forth also has colonial buildings and very modern architectural buildings.
In Brazil you have many many cities with an old past, some from the days of the Imperial times, .. do know that an Emperor ruled Brazil in the XIX
I hope you really read a little to have an idea of the magnitud and scope of things. Good luck.

How do i get in touch with Steve regarding Cuba? I have heard that Cuba is closing its doors at the end of 2003, or that Americans will not be able to go? What is the best way to go; best tour groups; time; safety?
Thanks for all the help. Johanna

If you want to photograph great buildings why not try Puerto Rico, and take a one day trip`to St. Thomas.....
Puerto Rico is great.... and not only Old San Juan..... with its fortresses.. and buildings... but rent a car and explore the island.....
