Best time of year to go?
What is best time of year for good weather? We are interested in photography, people, places. Quality of hotel not too important other than clean and comfortable bed. Want to try out alot of regional food, very important. More into seeing the non-tourist side of countries which we visit.

Any particular island? In general for the Caribbean islands, winter months have lower temps, lower humidity and less chance of rain, but also higher prices. If you're going to the Atlantic islands (i.e. Bahamas), winter can be surprisingly cold and windy sometimes. I like the months of May, Nov, Dec for the combination of fewer crowds, lower prices, and still reasonably good weather.

Andrew,
The weather in the Caribbean varies widely as far as water temps and rainfall depending on where/when you are going.
Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao, Anguilla, and the Turks and Caicos have little rainfall, but are not as lush and picturesque (as far as verdant and mountainous go).
The lusher islands have more rain.
Generally, Nov. through Feb. has the best weather, but is also the most expensive.
St. Lucia is visually stunning, but for what you are looking for, I would suggest St. Kitts/Nevis.
Both very beautiful and non-touristy.
Great places to eat, and the people are extremely friendly.
