I can only reply on Beaches Turks and while we had a wonderful time,it is very different from GL Negril.

The beach there is beautiful - nicer then GL in that is it not confined and you can go for long walks. Also, the beach there is more prestine - the clearest and bluest water we have ever seen. There are no highrises insite, no garbage or vendors - just incredible.

The atmosphere is very different with the children then GL Negril. IT is not as peaceful (for obvious reasons!) but we still found food and service to be very good. People however are not as freindly as in Jamaica.

The island itself is really a desert island so nothing much to see or do outside the resort other then visit near by islands. Could be a major advantage!

Entertainment is really geared with families in mind but they do have restaurants and bars that are adults only.

Again, we had a great time at Beaches. Biggest difference is the chidlren, it is not as classey or luxurious but still very enjoyable.

Try look at www.tropictravelonline.com There is a great message board there with tons of info and pictures as well.

Penney

I have to agree with Penny and her thoughts. We were to Beaches in Turks. We had a great time, many children and it was well geared for small children. I seem to recall every p.m. a stage with magic shows, card tricks. They did have an adult lounge. Night life was dull, so I thought, I didn't find the Island very interesting. I found the food to be good, a lovely beach. I cannot compare GL. If you want R&R, or you are scuba divers, then it is a good place for that activity. If you are interested in shopping I didn't find much outside of the airport.
