Club Med Columbus Isle, Bahamas or Beaches Negril, Jamaica

Which one if these all inclusive resort would you recommend us?

We would like to go to a resort where we can spend some quality time as family and also have activities that are nice to each one (my kids are interested in trying the water sports and I in yoga and water sports, my husband wants to relax, but his marathon running hobby may call him for some sports). We would also like to walk/hike if possible. We enjoy good food and having international experiences.

We are a family of four with two boys ages 11 and 14 at time of travel.
We want to go first week of May to the Caribbean to an all inclusive resort with really nice beaches (turquoise would be great) and the most pampering for the budget (yes, we love good service) Not considering neither Cancun nor Punta Cana, since we were there already.

We were recommended Beaches and Club Med and for islands, to go to Turks and Caicos. The Club Med in T&C does not allow children and the Beaches in the same island is 3K more expensive for the week than the other alternatives, since we would like to have separate rooms to sleep and the Beaches T&C one bedroom are already taken for the least expensive villas.

In Club Med we ended up with the Columbus Isle, Bahamas resort. The other Caribbean resorts are either too expensive or too many hours to reach from Peru, our country (for example the Caravellr in Guadaloupe almost a day to reach or maybe more and the ticket is around 1-1.5K)

In Beaches we ended up with the Negril resort, supposedly not as nice as the T&C, nicer than the Ocho Rios one.

Both look amazing in the brochures and web sites, and they have good reviews in many aspect.

I would like to know:
1). Are those beaches nice? Not cold, soft sand , clear water, easy to swim?
2) are those hotels too crowded? We are going first week in May, so I guess it is a date where there are going to be many tourists, but I'm I going to feel it? Are we going to have to make lines or wake up early to have a spot at the beach or at the pool? Will we be able to participate in the activities or will be so many interested people and so little spaces that it will be almost impossible to get into the good and medium ones?
3) club Med Bahamas: will my kids be a minority? It is a resort without club for teens, but they welcome kids 2 years and older.
4) are those resorts very international diversified in terms of guests nationalities?

Thanks for the help

i live in a part of maine that is generally considered to be "right on the edge of nowhere" - north of me is pretty much just trees.
having said that san salvador is the most quiet place i've ever been. there is Nothing to do except enjoy the beach & water. the club med beach is very nice. almost a mile long, soft sand that stays cool to the touch. we rented a house so can't speak for the club but fellow poster 'blamona' can as she has stayed there. i know she enjoyed the food. i really liked san salvador but would not take kids there unless they would be happy diving twice a day. also water & air temps might still be a bit cool in may.

the beaches in turks & caicos is very active & pretty luxurious. it is a large resort with lots happening. beach is 12 miles long and stunning. very very white sand and gorgeous clear tourquoise water. again water might be coolish in may.

jamaica might be your best bet. negril is a fun place with nice long beach. not much snorkeling but water is clear.

I don't know a thing about that resort, but I *LOVE* Negril.
