Asolar restaurant (etc.) : St John

We take off tomorrow for 9 days on St John (half Caneel/half Gallows). I believe I heard that our very favorite reestaurant is no longer there. I can't remember the name of it-- I think the name "Andre" was in it; a small 2nd floor restaurant in Cruz Bay. Anyone know anything abt it?
In all the years we've been going to StJ, we've never eaten at Asolar (I think because we much prefer to walk to dinner; don't like to drink and drive for one thing). Question: Sinced our other favorite restaurant may not exist, I'm wondering whether it'll be worth hauling over to Asolar. I can't imagine that the views could be much superior to ZoZo's-- but how about the food? Is it truly exceptional? As Michelins says: worth the drive?
Thanks!!

poss,
Enjoy your vacation! I'll be waiting for a trip report. I have never heard of any restaurant with "Andre" in it. There are a few new bars/restaurants at The Wharfside Village if that is where you are talking about.

Dinner with Andre, I learned, is the name of the restaurant. (Wasn't that the name of a movie?) There's a restaurant there now called Ten Tables; supposed to be very good. Learned, too, that Tage is another restaurant that's supposed to be good. Also Stone Terrace, but the one time we tried ST we were underimpressed. De gustibus!
We're sixty-somethings, not too interested in bar-type places. Prefer quiet restaurants with great food; not real interested in "happening" spots.
Thanks for the good wishes, brenandg!

Dear Poss-Enjoy your pre-holiday trip! Great time to get away. Two years ago we ate at Zozos and Asolare. Zozos view seemed better to me-you are really "right there" overlooking the Bay. I thought Zozo's food was very "good average" food and the atmosphere besides the view just normal. Asolare has a very unique atmosphere and we were seated outside on the overlook. The food was very good, but I do recall thinking the service was not very exceptional. I think the prices were higher at Asolare. I am glad to have gone and would recommend trying it once at least. Going back in March, so will look forward to your reviews.

poss,
I didn't think you were looking for "nightlife" . Just wondering if that was the area you were thinking. I think I know where you are talking about. It is Chilly Billy's during the day and Ten Tables for dinner and it is an upstairs restaurant right behind the Lumberyard Complex. We too thought Zo-Zo's was good but not over the top, but the views can't be beat. Hope Gallow's Point works out for you, I know you were worried about the quality of the units. One thing we liked was that the units were cleaned early in the day and there always left plenty of towels. You won't believe how big The Grand Bay Resort is now. You will have to dodge the heavy equipment walking into town. As I mentioned though, we never heard anything from Gallow's. Have fun!
