ARUBA? USVI? T&C?
Looking for advice on where to go for a a girlfriend birthday celebration. We are all 50 or turning, married but not dead, and like to have fun. Needs include: great beach, good food, drinking and dancing(yes we can all dance without our walkers). preferably with minimal children and honeymooners. thanks

Turks Caicos is quiet.
Have been to Aruba and they definitely have nightlife. There is gambling, good food and I am sure there is dancing. We had our kids so we didn't go out dancing.
We stayed at the Marriott, which is very nice, but there were lots of kids. Anywhere you go, there will be kids. There were a lot of age groups though. So, it is not over run with kids, honeymooners, etc..
USVI (St. John is quiet) StThomas probably has nightlife, but the downtown area gets questionable at night. (I have only read this not experienced it).
We felt very safe in Aruba despite the Natalie Holloway story. There seem to be enough action to keep everyone busy doing something.

We've been to all 3. For nightlife, dancing, good food, drinking and great beach, Aruba meets your criteria.
Turks and Caicos is very quite with no nightlife to speak of. In St. Thomas we went to Duffy's Love Shack and Paradise Point, which was OK, but nothing like Aruba. I agree going out at night in St. Thomas is questionable. You'll need to keep your guard up and I wouldn't walk outside of the hotel at night. Use taxis.
We did the Kukukankoo Bus to 4 area bars in Aruba and had a great time. There are also many very nice good restuarants and plenty of things to see and do. Depending on what time of year you go will determine the crowds. I would not go during holidays or school breaks. We went the first week of September and it was crowded until the Labor Day holiday people left and then it was fine. Palm beach has more activity than Eagle Beach. There is a restuarant/shopping row just steps from most of the hotels on Palm Beach. We loved the location. We would return to Aruba in a heartbeat. We wouldn't go back to T & C or St. Thomas.

I have never been to Aruba but I have friends who go every year. They love it there. St. Thomas pretty but not that hopping. Stayed a week in Turks and Caicos. Way to quiet for our tastes. We went in Early Jan. a great place to relax after the holiday bustle. If I were you sight unseen I would choose Aruba.

We have been to all three and Aruba is definitely the one that fits your description of wants. Provo on T&C has no nightlife at all. There will be lots of children at the Marriott complex. Maybe at the Hyatt or Radisson there could be less children. Also look at the Divi Village, there will be a lot of golfers there because it is on a golf course, maybe not so many children.

I would recommend ARuba in a heartbeat. There is literally NOTHING to do in T&C--nothing. I can't say for ST.Thomas but I visited ST. JOhn and other than some cute little bars and good restaurants, it was really quiet. Aruba has terrific restaurants, casinos, great beaches and pools, and the KuKuKanookoo Bus thing always looks like a trip!
