Aruba (Wyndam) or Cozumel (Pres. Inter.) Please Help!

I am debating between these two hotels and locations and would appreciate any feedback. Planning on traveling early March and looking for a great beach (who isn't?). I am concerned about wind in Aruba, so I would be grateful to hear from anyone who stayed at the Wyndham in early March. Thanks for any info!!!

Similar beaches, white, baby powder sand, turquoise waters, tropical fish. The weather in Aruba is so reliable (avg 80) that they never post a report. The winds are very mild and nice. Aruba is a desert island, so not many hills or green stuff. Their is no racial tension and a very high living standard... very safe. Consider the time/cost it takes to travel to both destinations. Food in Aruba is very expensive. Their is more to do around Cozumel, but if it was beach only, I would pick Aruba. You will love either.

I've only been to Aruba (2000), St. Maartan (1997), and St. Bart's (1997). Much preferred St. Maartan/St. Bart's over Aruba. We stayed 7 days in Aruba and I was bored after 3! It's a VERY small island, pretty expensive, VERY hot and dry (we went in late October and the high temps averaged 95 w/ high humidity each day). Lots of casinos but that's not why I go to an island to vacation. Food is pretty expensive, yes, the beaches were fine but not that many in Aruba. People were friendly, though, and we did feel very safe. Little/no begging. St. Maartan we loved since you get to experience two cultures (Dutch and French). We're heading to Cancun for first time in 2 weeks/can give you an update then!
Best of luck... I've had other friends go to Cozumel and really liked it...

I stayed at the Wyndham in Aruba last May. I loved it there, went with my boyfriend and had an amazing time. weather was perfect, always reliable. The beach is gorgeous but I will be honest and tell you that it was very windy. it is extremely windy especially at the wyndham b/c of how the hotel is placed on the beach (kind of on a slant). The pool was windy but it felt great, the annoying thing about th beach is that the sand blows. We walked next door to the Radisson one day and sat at that beach and it was fine. you can sit on any beach you want but have to pay like $5 for a chair for the day. Food is amazing in aruba, but kind of pricy, and there is really nothing to do there but sit on the beach, eat, and gamble. if you want a relaxing vacation, go there. if you can afford the hyatt, radisson, or marriott, they are the best hotels, but the most expensive.

Thanks everyone! After some more research, I decided that I'm a little too nervous about the wind in Aruba as I understand it can go either way. So I'm off to the Pres. Intercontinental in March. Thanks again!!
