Aruba- Is there enough to do?
My husband and I are considering a trip to Aruba but I am concerned the only thing to do is lay by the beach or snorkel. Aside from that, can anyone tell me some fun activites (boat tours, golf, shows, etc.). We don't like to hang out by the pool all day so I want to make sure we can keep busy. Thanks!

Renting a jeep and exploring the island is fun and Aruba has great shopping downtown. There's parasailing, jetskis and 1/2 and full boat tours for siteseeing, snorkeling and fishing. The resorts usually have lots of activities going on during the day as well. I know they have a golf course but can't answer on the shows at night. Essentially Aruba is geared towards all travelers - those like you and your hubby who like to do things and be active - and toward travelers like me and my family who are total beach bums that just enjoy walking the beach, sunning, reading and swimming our vacation away.

We just got back from Aruba. Had a wonderful time. We took a snorkeling trip. It went to 3 locations. We did snuba at one of the locations. We rented ATV with ATV extravaganza. It was a 4 hour ride to the other side of the island. We saw the natural bridge, gold mines. It was a fun ride. You can ride double if you want. You can rent a car. We did for a day and did some shopping and driving to the north side. We missed the whole south side, near baby beach. We will have to see it the next time we are there. We will be back.

Hi: We have rented a car which enabled us to see the rugged side. Walked the dunes, brought a romantic picnic lunch and enjoyed a secluded beach to ourselves. We went snorkling at baby beach, and at de Palm Island. We went on a night time cruise with music and a bbq dinner. We have also gone Horseback riding and swimming in a secret pool, the ride was not too difficult but oh so hot! We went to bat caves and to rock caves. There is a golf course. We played tennis also at the resort. We went to a cultural show in the town on Tuesday night. There are shows at the La Cabanna Resort. Most evenings there is some sort of tropical show and dinner at one of the resorts. There is really good windsurfing near Fishermans Hut. But it gets pretty hard to pull yourself away from those beautiful beaches. Karen

Daytime-ATV trips on island, snorkle at Baby Beach or Arashi, have a guide lead you through Arikok National Park, ride a horse from Rancho Notorious, tour the Aloe Factory and buy products, shop downtown, go on the Sea Explorer underneath the ocean, take a catamaran ride to the german seawreck Antilla, arrange for a tee time at the Tierra Del Sol Golf Course, arrange for spa treatments, rent a car and tour the island etc.
Night-take a sunset cruise on the Palm Pleasure, gamble, choice of dining at many excellent restaurants, enjoy the dinner party cruise on the Tatoo, party on the Kukoo Kunuku bus and visit several watering holes including dinner, walk the beach, enjoy the many happy hours, have dinner on a boat from the upscale Le Dome Restaurant, see a tropical dinner show at the Wyndham etc. Yes--there's plenty to do!
