Anguilla or STJ/STT???
My fiance and I are stuck between spending our August honeymoon at Cap Juluca (or Spice Island) and one split between Caneel Bay and the Ritz. We like some stuff to do/see and we like to shop. It seems like STT/STJ is a better fit, but the resorts on Anguilla look amazing... Any suggestions?? Thanks for any advice!

Congratulations on your nuptuals. I would select Cap Juluca for a honeymoon and the ultimate getaway. IMO it just seems to be the perfect "Do nothing" vacation.
Since you are saying that you like to shop and go on excursions, perhaps the STT/STJ combo may be a better fit for you.

Cap Juluca is nicer than Caneel Bay when it comes to rooms and on site food quality, and the one long beach at CJ is among the nicest you'll find anywhere in the world. Downside is that Anguilla's rather unattractive as an island, and the grounds at CJ aren't especially memorable. The restaurants on Anguilla are the best collection you'll find in the Caribbean IMO.
CB has much more charming grounds--not country club elegant, but shady, green, expansive, quiet and park-like. And its beaches are backed by a lush green island that looks like the tropical paradise most people envision for a postcard. CB's rooms and food aren't up to the standards of CJ. Personally I haven't found the service to be outstanding at either CJ or CB, but it's not subpar either.
Both islands are quiet and relaxing, perfect for a honeymoon.
Just depends on which attributes are most important to you.

St. John, I think has the best of everything. You should check into some lovely villas for the prices are low in August. It is lush and has over 33 of the most beautiful beaches in all the Caribben. You can also take a 1/2 or full day sail over to the BVI.
If you fee you want to stay close to town there is a gorgeous B&B called Estate Lindholm. Our personal choice for our honeymoon was a villa that had it own private pool, views to die for and so much space. It was the best of both words. Drive to the beach which you will want to do anyway whether you stayed at Caneel. There is to much to explore on this tiny island not to rent a jeep and have a blast.
The town of Cruz Bay is lovely with many shops, restaurants and happy hours.
Perfect little island.
