Airfare to St. Lucia

I am going on my honeymoon to St. Lucia in mid-October for 6 nights. I will be flying out of either Miami or Ft. Lauderdale and going to either SLU or UVF (doesn't really matter to me which one, primarily which ever is cheaper). Right now it looks like tickets are running around $625 or so each. Does anyone know if this is too expensive and if prices will go down? Anyone have past experience and could give me adive on how much tickets should cost? Thanks for any help you can give!

Being that this is your honeymoon, you're dates probably are set, so I'd buy the tickets. Where are you staying? If up north, fly into SLU, it's so much more pleasant. If you can wait a bit, there should be an air sale by July for travel in the Fall. They always put it on sale to the 350-500 range for JFK-SLU travel, not sure what FL markets cost.

Thanksfor the advice. Yes, dates are set, and I would probably like to buy the tickets before July if possible, but I guess I can try and wait as long as possible.

Has anyone flown to St. Lucia from FL? When and how much did you pay for tickets?

Your best bet is to buy a package (hotel/air) from a travel agent as they usally get pretty good rates with packages.

I already made the hotel reservations (got a MUCH better deal through the hotel's internet site than any travel agent or discount service could ever offer), so now I just need to find reasonable airfare. I am really just wondering if anyone knows if tickets will go down in the near future or if anyone has bought tickets to St. Lucia before, flying out of Florida, and could tell me how much they spent.

Thanks for any help!

Prices for air vary. Even if you sit next to someone on a flight they most likely paid a different price than you did. That's why buying a package thru an agent is a much better deal.
Now in the long run that deal you thought you got through the hotel will not be so good because you will have to pay so much for the air you didn't get a deal at all! If you wait any longer the dates you want may be all booked on those flights and the cheap tickets already gone and you may have to pay even more.

I looked at as many package deals as I could find, and even with airfare being where it is now, I am still way ahead of any deal that a travel agent could give me as a package, that is how good the hotel's room only package special I got is, now I just want to know what other people have paid so I can decide if I should go ahead and buy two round trip tickets from Miami to St. Lucia now at approx. $1250 for the pair, or if I should wait to see if they will go down.

Gifford, just checked orbitz for your trip in mid-October and there was a $457 airfare on American Trans Air and American Airlines. I don't know how long they're going to have this cheap fare.

Thanks, I saw that price earlier. I was hoping to get an earlier flight out of Miami. Anyone else have an idea of what tickets from MIA-SLU normally run for mid-Oct.?
