online Hermitage tickets in St Pete

Hello, I've noticed that you can get online tickets to the Hermitage from

http://shop.hermitagemuseum.org/index.html

I haven't gone ahead and purchased them yet, but it seems like you don't need to pick a certain day, but rather have flexibility in choosing the date, i.e. you can go on any day (unless they make you pick a date after you enter your credit card info...). My question is, has anyone purchased these tickets and used them at the Hermitage? Are you really able to skip the line and exchange a print-out for an actual ticket? It doesn' t make sense to buy them if I'll end up having to wait in line anyway... Thanks,
Alex

JaneB, thanks very much for your response. I wasn't able to follow the link you posted though, is that the right one? Thanks.

No--I can't make it work either! Do a search for "State Hermitage" and you can locate it.
