2nd Honeymoon Question
I've posted my initial honeymoon question on the forum, but I now have more information. My fiance and I will be taking our honeymoon in January. Originally we were considering Paradise Island and the Grand Cayman, but here is the expanded list of options. Any information on any of these islands and your recommendations would be incredible. Thank you for your time and your help. Here's the list: Antigua, Aruba, Bahamas, Grand Cayman, Curacao, Puerto Rico, St. John, and St. Maarten! Thank you.

Antigua - we stayed at Sandals Antigua and had a wondrful time. The grounds are very lush and beautiful and it is a very romantic and relaxing atmosphere. Beach is beautiful, food adn service was very goog - would go back tomorrow!

Bahamas - we have been to Cable Beach area numerous times. Beautiful beaches but more American in feel. Going to be more affordable. Sandals Bahamas is there - very pricey but tons to do, beautiful surronding, great off shore island. Compass Point is a smaller resort but very imitmate, less commerical, adorable cabanas and huts, excellent food, true island feel.

Peurto Rico - love the island. It is so richin culture, great feeling! Very beautiful in the outer counrty area's outside of San Jaun. Tons to see off the resorts.

A villa in St. John thru Catered To or Destination St. John villa rentals--look at those views. Sunset Waters Resort in Curacao (secluded). Ti Kaye Village Resort (cottages lined down the hill-extraordinary view, see adventure honeymoon package-a great package) in St. Lucia--also see scubatreks.com. Tiamo Resort in South Andros, Bahamas (gorgeous beach, quiet). Green Cay Villas, L'Hoste Hotel or Esmeralda Resort at Orient Beach, french St. Martin (dining is exquisite on french side-Marigot and Grand Case), Orient Beach is a long white sand beach with six beach bars and sports vendors-no strolling vendors, some nudity. See travelers reviews at Where2Stay.com--info at "see-caribbean" and "Geographisa" (type out in Google).

Without knowing you or your fiance's interests, it's hard to narrow down.

If you are not into high rise hotels, casinos, mega-duty-free shopping, all inclusives, we'd recommend St. John.

Quiet, serene, beaches to die for. Our only complaint was that it was often too quiet...we would have liked a night out on the town...but on your honeymoon, you can probably find other things to do LOL. Or, you can do like us and take a quick ferry to St. Thomas for some bar hopping.

We'd recommend a villa vacation. There are literally hundreds of homes for rent on the island. You will have all of the privacy you need, usually a pool or a hot tub, maid service, the luxury of being able to stretch out in your own living room, kitchen, den, patio, bedroom. The homes on island range from rustic little beach bungalows to the most opulant estates imaginable. There's something out there for every budget.

Keep in mind, though, most St. John villas are on the hills of the south shore. You will usually have to drive to the north shore beaches (10-15 minutes or so, often on a wild, winding, but fun road).

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Good luck and safe travels wherever you decide to go.
