WHISTLER Hotel
If you had the choice, which hotel would you prefer to stay in for a weekend in summer: Fairmont Chateau Whistler or the
Westin Whistler? I got a pretty decent AAA rate for a mountainview suite at the Westin and they do have those comfy beds, but the Fairmont's rate is much higher. Wondering which one to pick? Thanks!

They are both great hotels. The Westin is right in the village, so it easier to access everything. The Chateau is about a 5 minute walk to the village. The Chateau has the Mallard Bar , which is a nice place for drinks, but the rooms are nicer in the Westin ,imho. Also, the Four Seasons is scheduled to open in June, which will add a 5 star hotel to Whistler, but it is on the other side of the Chateau, so again, a bit of a walk. Enjoy!!

The Westin - absolutely. Unless you want to be far from the hustle-bustle of the village. Even then the Westin is at the far end of the village and not in its midst so it's not exposed to too much noise. The Fairmont is a fair shlep by foot from the village and is almost a resort unto itself. Unless that appeals to you, choose the Westin.

mrt-Thanks for your reply. Four Season Hotels are always out of my price range. Wonder if they are worth the big bucks they charge for a room. But I'm this hotel will be a nice addition for the 2010 Winter Olympics Games in Vancouver!!!
Would love to be there for that!!! Thanks again....
