I am leaving Friday for a week at Whistler. Has anyone stayed at Mountainside Lodge in Whistler Village. If so, how was it. Also any recommendations on restaurants in the Village. The first three days I will have three small children staying with me, then for the rest of the week I'm on my own. Any good "family" style places to eat. What about things for the little ones to do? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I live in Whistler so I've never stayed in a the Mountainside Lodge. But all hotels are usually of a high standard. The Best places (and cheapest) to eat with kids is: The Spaghetti Factory, Carambas, Uli's and Gaitors. Of course there is always McDonalds and Kentucky Fried Chicken! This time of year the most fun thing to do with kids (besides ski) is hang out at the Recreation Center pool, walk (or bike) the valley trail and village area and prehaps depending on the ages of the kids, indoor rock climbing. I've stayed twice at Mountainside Lodge-very friendly staff and great view of the mountain out your window. Nice heated pool and jacuzzi. Murphy bed folds up to get more space if you've booked a studio. Kitchen is a plus there. Enjoy!

ive also stayed at the mountainside lodge a few times, although it has been at least 5 years ago. i believe there are some time share suites as well. we stayed in a loft suite which was very nice and spacious. by the chateu whistler they have (not sure if this time of year open) some horsebackriding and acrobatic things to do for kids, theres also the meadownpark indoor pool which is nice for the kids and adults. Thanks for the responses. Does anyone know if there are cash machines in the Village. I'm sure there are, but thought I would check before I leave tomorrow. I usually just use a debit card for cash
