Which Niagara Falls Hotel? Sheraton on the Falls or Marriott Fallsview?

We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teens) and are planning a short (2 night) stay at Niagara Falls this August. We are thinking of either the Sheraton on the Falls or the Marriott Fallsview. Is one superior to the other? Does one of better views of the falls? We will be booking fallsview rooms. Is one more convenient to the sights? Thanks, Susan

Hi, with teens especially, no question, you must stay at the Sheraton Inn on the falls, not the Sheraton Fallsview, when booking confirm that it is the hotel at Clifton Hill. I have a 18, 19, and 2 yr old. We go now several times a year we love it so much, The other hotels like the Marriott or the Embassy Suites, although are nice, have a nice view, you are not within walking distance to where all the action is .. on Clifton Hills. We have the most gorgeous view of both falls from our beds in this hotel, and all the hot spots are at the base of the hotel, the Hard Rock Cafe, Ripleys Belive it or not, the Wax museum, "wendys", Planet Hollywood....etc... a walk accross the road and they falls are right there..... personally even without the kids, i prefer this spot as we can leave our room and walk to so many spots we would otherwise have to drive to if we stayed down the road at one of the other hotels.
Horse and buggy rides are right at the corner of the hotel as well, and i find the price very cheap for a buggy ride in Niagara Falls. We have a ride each time we go....
Hope this helps,
If you don't mind the high cost of parking, then the other hotels are fine, but you will have to drive everywhere and the parking is not cheap. Don't forget the border is right there, and traffic can be a nightmare. Also parking is not always available in the Clifton Hill area, so i find it frazzles our nerves and depletes our funds quickly more than anything.

Brink-Thank you so much for all the info. What is the difference between Sheraton Inn vs. Sheraton Fallsview?
We are planning on staying at the Sheraton Fallsview early July. Should we switch to Sheraton Inn?
Also--once and for all--we are coming in from Buffalo airport. Do we need to rent a car? We are planning on staying for 4 days and I am really confused as to whether we should rent a car or not.
Please help

Hi, both of the sheratons are beautiful!!!
but the one "at" Clifton Hill, is within walking distance of so much, where as the other is not. The one on Clifton Hill you can literally walk the neon strip from the street level, or go to the falls, both have great views of the falls, just less driving and parking costs if you stay at the one on/at Clifton Hills.

I should add, my one of my daughters just had her honeymoon up at the Mariott....
and althought it was wonderful, same with would go for the Sheraton Fallsview.... she/we spend our New YEARS always at the Sheraton Inn on the Falls, at Clifton Hills, and she said, that on her honeymoon although it was beautiful up the road, it was costly and a pain to get to Clifton Hill where they spent much of their time, walking around and taking in the sights......
hope that helps.....
I love those other hotels as well, and the Embassy suites, but when i went to the Embassy suites "up the road" like the other two.... i literally spent my time taking in the sights of the falls from my jazuzzi bathtub in the middle of the presidential suite
we went there not planning to leave... it would have been costly with parking etc..and impossible with a baby stroller with my youngest son... No way!! to get up and down the hill.
We go often and the Sheraton on the falls is our first choice for convenience all around, and we truly love our view of both falls from OUR BED, that you do get from the Clifton Hill Sheraton...

You'll be very pleased i think if you pick that location, for yourself and your teens.
My older girls love that spot, and i'm 41, my two year old has loved it all the lights and sounds since newborn, and at 41, so do i
Have fun and do let us know!!
