Niagara Falls

Family will be staying in Niagara Falls for 1 night in July. Would like information about which hotel would be best to stay at. Kids are 9 and 14- would like a hotel within walking distance to most attractions.

Although I have never stayed overnight near the falls, I would recommend staying on the Canadian side. Check out the following website for accommodations in your price range. www.onlinehotels.com/canada.aspx

My favorite room ever in Niagara was the Fallsview Marriott. We got a falls view room (for extra $$, of course) and it was well worth it. The room was spectacular and the hotel was absolutely lovely. We parked our car at the hotel and didn't touch it for two days. We took the little tram ($1 Canadian each way) down to the main road along the falls, and from there you could access some of the sights on foot (Maid of the Mist, Under the Falls attraction, I forget the name of it). Also, you could pick the People Mover up from there (the public transportation that will bring you to different attractions). It was great that we saw everything without having to look for parking anywhere, which can be tight in summer months.

I should of added, there are other hotels in the vicinity of the Marriott that would be just as easy to access the falls and the People Mover without using your car!

We have also stayed at the Fallsview and it was amazing! Ceiling to floor windows, what a view! Even at night!

The last time we were there, we stayed at the new Days Inn Clifton Hill and it was very good, just not as a great view but very reasonably priced.
