Wedgewood or Four Seasons

My husband and I have three nights in Vancouver before our cruise. Does anyone know how an executive room at the Wedgewood compares to a Panorama corner room at the Four Seasons? Thanks! SPB

The Wedgewood is a wonderful and very highly rated Botique Hottel. The Four Seasons is a superb world class Five Star hotel. The main difference is size and intimacy. With only about 90 rooms the Wedgewood has a much more intimate feel although the facilities are perhaps a tad less deluxe than the Four Seasons. I frankly don't think you'll be dissappointed with the quality of your room or the service in either place. It's more a case of big hotel v.s. small.

The Four Seasons is located atop the Pacific Centre Mall which is the main indoor shopping mall of downtown Vancouver. The Wedgewood is only a block or two away from the high class Robson Street shopping. Both are as central as you could be but unless you get a high room at either one your view could be blocked by other buildings. And in Vancouver the views are definately worth paying a little extra for.

I've never stayed at the Wedgewood so can't comment on that property. As GaryA has pointed out the Four Seasons sits above the Pacific Centre Mall making it a convenient location, especially on those rainy Vancouver days. Although located in the busy mall, it is an oasis of calm and quiet once you enter the 2nd floor lobby area. The room furnishings are comfortable and nicely understated, the staff very attentive with excellent service. A good choice.

I can only tell you that the Wedgewood is the only hotel I've stayed in (in 27 countries) where I wanted to be adopted and move in.

I'd agree wholeheartedly with Amy. The only thing I'd add is that the staff are so helpful and pleasant that I feel as if I'd already been adopted and moved in!

I do agree about the Wedgewood being a jewel of a hotel; I have stayed there 3 times and would never return to the big luxury hotels in Vancouver.
