Toronto Zoo

We are planning on driving to Toronto for the day from Niagara. We thought about going to the Toronto Zoo.

Is the zoo worth the trip and how long does it take to see?

Thanks!

The Zoo is indeed worth a trip. Plan to spend a full day there--you may not see all of it even in that time.

The zoo is worthwhile. You could easily spend a day there as Laverendrye noted above.

Try to get there when they open -animals are most active in the cooler hours. Check for feeding times -the polar bear feeding seems to be a favourite.

You probably know the zoo has a website with maps etc and introductions to some of the animals. One good feature is that the zoo has quite a lot of natural habitat surrounding it- a pleasant spot for a walk.

Toronto Zoo is on the opposite side of Toronto from Niagara, probably a two hour drive or so from the Falls.

Let me know if you have other questions -we live a two minute drive from the zoo.

cheers

Jerry

Thanks..I did check out the website and it looked really nice and rather large. I figured we probably wouldn't see it all in one day, but still wanted to make the trip. Many people have noted about the Polar Bears, so that is a must!

Feeding the polar bears is great and the Birds of Prey demonstration is good.
Also if there are any "talk to the keeper" sessions - they are quite interesting. We once attended a great one with the elephant keeper.
