Toronto to Mackinac Island?

Hi-
We're going to Niagara Falls, then Toronto,
then thinking of driving from Toronto to Mackinac Island. Best route? Driving time?
Is it worth it?
Thanks!
Linda

Your only real route would be 401 from Toronto towards London, then take the 402 towards Sarnia & Port Huron, once in Michigan get to the I-75 North to Mackinac, then get on a ferry.

Mackinac is a beautiful place and the Mackinaw Bridge is nice.

Its about 800 km and I would wager that it would take about 10 hours.

Going through Ontario, around Georgian Bay up to Sault Ste. Marie and then south again would be much longer (about the same distance, but a couple hours longer, and definitely less to see and do along the way - Sudbury to Sault Ste. Marie is a snoozer).
