The Briars Resort Ontario
Has anyone stayed at The Briars resort in Jackson's Point Ontario? Looking at going in July for a weekend getaway, golf for my husband and spa for me.
Any opinions on accommodations, meals or activities would be greatly appreciated.

Although I have not stayed there, it has a very good reputation and is considered to be a very good place to go. I know people who have gone there and had a wonderful time.
From what I know, I wouldn't hesitate.

I've only attended an afternoon reception at the Briars, it was a tranquil and pretty country inn/resort on Lake Simcoe. I believe it is still family run. The original mansion has been added on to several times. The Red Barn Theatre is on the estate in the original barn. Usually some excellent summer theatre. Have a great getaway.

I stayed a couple of years ago. Everything was fine, but nothing extraordianry or memorable. I do seem to recall a bit of conflict with the front desk.
I would say it is a fine choice for a weekend getaway, but I wouldn't spend a special occasion (honeymoon, anniversary, birthday) there.

Two recently mentioned resorts that might fit the bill.
The Inn at Manitou, further north than the Briars with golf and spa.
The Langdon Country Inn in Cambridge. Both are members of Relais and Chateaux collection of hotels.

I would second Gemelli's suggestions of The Inn at Manitou and Langdon Hall.
There was nothing wrong with The Briars... there just wasn't anything special. I wouldn't return.
(I will say, as I always do, that I am very picky... )
