Stay at College Hotels

I was wondering about the college hotels in Toronto? Has anyone ever stayed in one of these? The rates are economical, and would work well for me alone but I have a gf and her son coming along. They allow children, but what is the experience like for them??
Is saving the money worth the loss of extras?

Thanks,

JIM

Jim,
I'm not sure what you mean by 'college hotels'. Can you be more specific? Give us a name and possibly a location?

JIM means that universities (U of T, Ryerson, etc.) rent their empty dorms to visitors during the summer months.

It can get very hot in the summer months so if a/c is important to you...check if they have it.

Hi Jim~ On your own yes, but with a girlfriend and child.....No. Not unless you want this relationship to be on the rocks by the time you leave Toronto. Travelling with a child can be great fun, but stressful for a couple, so try to find someplace affordable, and budget the holiday around it. expedia has some summer sales on now, and some of the hotels offer summer specials too. You might get lucky.

Hi,
I stayed at Neill Wyzik a few years ago without kids. No a/c but very cheap and well located. It was really hot....

One of the most comfortable college/university residences is Massey College. And they have great food. Plus a serene inner courtyard with a goldfish filled pond.
