We had stayed at the Sheraton Renaissance. It is very close to the falls. In fact, from our room we had a great view of the falls. In the evening we could enjoy the falls and the changing colors without having to leve the room. When we went last year, there were fireworks we watched right from the room.
Nice restaurant there w/buffets. Seats by the window allow you to enjoy view.
Price was very reasonable.

My husband and myself just came back from a four day mini-vacation to the falls - and we stayed at the Marriott fallsview - and we were on the 11th floor and the view was wonderful - really great - It just took my breath away..we could see the American as well as the Canadian and everything in between..it was a wonderful hotel with a great view (couldn't ask for more). The hotel had a pool on the lower level/exercise room. They had a dinning room and the personal were very helpful. They have a shuttle to take you to the casino and parking is $13 a day. Price was not too bad - with the exchange rate. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I have stayed at the Travelodge by Clifton Hill many times over the last 6 years. The price is reasonable, but keep in mind the restaurant is only for breakfast. Yes it is very close to the falls, Sklyon Tower, shopping and restaurants. But the rooms are getting a little worn and it is very popular with young singles. Would not recommend the two story motel section for the noise level, opt for the 4 floor main section of the hotel. There is an indoor pool and whirlpool.

This is not anything near a luxury hotel, but if you are on a tight budget, it might be fine.
