Niagara Embassy Suites - I need helping choosing room floor and options

need some advice please!!!!

we are leaning towards embassy suites on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls for our anniversary trip. we would stay thurs and fri night of memorial day weekend. next 2 nights would be in a nearby town at a B&B. these nights are the "splurge part of our trip" all choices will most likely fit in our budget, but we don't want to overspend on things that aren't important. we want the view and are willing to pay even though it is just a room!

basically I am torn between 3 room choices - all include breakfast, view of both horseshoe and american falls and 2 person whirlpool tubs. differences are how high up the room is (which means better view) and king vs. queen

#1 cheapest room is king bed but low floor (floors 10 - 15)
#2 for $9 more it would be 2 queen beds, higher floor (floors 28 - 36)
#3 for $94 more it would be king, higher floors (same floors as queen) and a fireplace

at this point I am leaning towards the queen room. we don't NEED a king, though it would be nice and that is what we sleep on at home, and we don't NEED a fireplace. or should I just forget about being so budget concise and go with the extra $94 and get the best room option all around? does it really make a difference to stay higher up??

also WDYT of this for $19 extra (no matter what room) you can get a $45 credit, so really only $26 to the hotel restaurant which is actually supposed to be really good, yet pricey and we thought about eating there anyway.....seems kinda dumb as I write it out.

thanks so much for the advice!!!!!

The Hotel is on a cliff 100 ft above the top of the Falls so going higher will take you away from the view... take the cheapest room, it's actually a better view!!! Skip the hotel restaurant unless you are too lazy to get into the car and drive 20 minutes to Niagara on the Lake... everyone here will tell you that the Keg is great, but you have already paid for the view from your room and its just an OK steakhouse....

The nearby town should be Niagara on the Lake and there are a hundred or so choices for B&B or 4 Diamond hotels... the best dining is in that area, so consider saving a night for pricy fine dining at Peller, Strewn, Hildebrand, Escabesche, or a bit further out at Vineland or Penninsula Ridge... even your lunches and less pricy meals can be enjoyed at The Harp, Angel Inn, Old Winery, and others in and around the Village.

Have fun and Happy Anniversary!

Lisa, I would take #1 on the 15th floor with king bed as long as you have a fallsview room. We have stayed at the Embassy suites twice and enjoyed our stay both times! I love fallsview rooms! It does not matter how high, as long as they are fallsview. I also love to dine at the Keg with a window seat viewing the Falls. Have fun!

thanks! by "nearby town" I did mean Niagara on the Lake. leaning towards Abacot Hall B&B right now for our 2 nights there. I am glad to hear the higher up floors at the embassy don't really affect having a better view or not. definitely good to know!!! mights stick with the original plan then of the king falls view room on the lower floor. think we will go with the keg restaurant credit. the menu looks really good. and it might be nice to eat and have a view of the falls at the same time. any other suggestions? thanks again

We went to Niagara Falls last year for our anniversary and stayed on the 30+ floor (32 I think) with a king bed and a fire place. I remember thinking that it was good we were higher because I thought the lower floors wouldn't have a great angle to see to the bottom of the falls. I thought it was worth the extra money but I have not stayed on a lower floor. We did not use the fire place, but the chairs right next to the window were a great viewing place with a bottle of wine at night. I would not eat at the keg. We had a fabulous albeit expensive dinner at Escabeche. That was worth it too for an anniversary trip.

Don't make the Keg a special dinner.... take a winery... the food and the view overlooking the vineyards is special and romantic... The Keg is a Ponderosa on Steroids...
