Advice please on best hotels around $200/night with best views for two-night stay in Sept at Niagara Falls Ontario. Type of room and floor suggestions welcome, as well as any other tips and problems to avoid. Thanks.
Embassy Suites has rooms looking directly at the Falls. We were there last Oct for two nights. We had a "fallsview 2 room suite w/breakfast" for about $200/night. Watch for specials on their website. I think we also got something towards a dinner too.
also check Niagara Fallsview Casino and Oakes Hotel... they are all next to Embassy Suites with the same view on a cliff above the Falls....
keep in mind that Higher floors are NOT better in these properties... the cliff is 100 feet above the Falls top and 287 feet above the bottom of the Falls... Floors below 15 actually have a better view...
The casino often has spa getaway specials as well as concert packages ... Rates in September begin to drop after Labor Day weekend... also look into AAA discount, AARP, or advance booking discounts... good luck...

Agree with the Embassy Suites suggestion. We've stayed there twice and loved it both times. Buy a package and you will get not only breakfast, but 45.00 towards dinner at the Keg which is really good with wonderful Falls view. Ask for a window seat. You'll also get two glasses of wine in the lounge in the evening: http://www.embassysuitesniagara.com/
The Marriott is right next door, you could check and see if they are offering any packages and their rates as their view would be the same. The Casino would also have a good view. Just be sure and ask for a FAllsview.

We stayed at the Sheraton Fallsview (may now have a new name) right behnd the park across from the falls. the rooms have floor to ceiling window views of the Falls, faux fireplaces etc. Breakfast was free but not worth it.
I agree with the others who have recommended The Embassy Suite Fallsview. Very nice hotel, with great views from the two-room suites. Complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning and drinks and snacks in the evening.
Have fun!

We just returned from Niagara Falls, Ontario. We stayed at two different hotels. Marriott Gateway was my favorite. We had floor to ceiling windows with a great view of both falls. We stayed on the top floor. They gave us breakfast for two when they found out it was my birthday and it was a fabulous buffet. This hotel is down the strip away from the Clifton Hill commotion, which is what I preferred. It is a very short walk to the lift that takes you down to the falls level. The other hotel we stayed at was the Sheraton on the falls. Huge hotel, nice, but too much for me. Water Park in the hotel, right on the Clifton Hill area with that circus like atmosphere. Parking was a long way unless you valet parked. If you have children, you might want to stay here. The falls view from our room was not quite as nice as the other. Both hotels were nice, but my husband and I preferred the Marriott Gateway.
