Montreal:B&B Chateau Argoat

Anyone have any info on this place? The website looks good and the price is perfect $130CAN for queen double with whirlpool jacuzzi, but we have never been to Montreal so we don't know if it is central to anything? Our other option is the Intercontinental or Crowne Plaza, more commercial but in our price range? Any recommendations for a room less than $140CAN would be great also?
Thank you.

I've not stayed at the Argoat or the Crowne Plaza, but I have stayed in b&b's very close by. These hotels are a few blocks apart in a very desirable, pleasant part of the city - close to the plateau/St. Denis area, and a 15 - 20 minute walk to the downtown area. I would have no qualms staying at either place.

It certainly seems very nice. It's nice to see those historical buildings used for b&b's...

You're not right in the center of things as far as downtown is concerned but it's very reasonable as far as distance to everything...
The metro in Montreal is safe and clean and so convenient; a cab ride is still very reasonable. St. Denis street is chockfull of cafes and restaurants; Fonduementale is one of my faves. Shops abound on that street; montrealers go a lot on St. Denis in the summer.
Let us know your impressions on your return...
